Once Upon a Time in Darlington

Once Upon A Time will be displayed at Crown Street Art Gallery (in Crown Street Library) from Saturday 4 August to Sunday 6 September. The collection, created by men, women and children of all ages, includes wall murals and knitted characters from stories such as Hansel and Gretel, The Jungle Book, The Hobbit, Alice in Wonderland and a number of Roald Dahl books.

The theme of the Once Upon A Time exhibition ties in with Crown Street Library’s summer reading challenge which aims to encourage children to enjoy reading during the summer holidays.

Nick Wallis, Darlington Council’s Cabinet Member leading on arts, said: “There are so many opportunities to get involved in arts and culture in the Borough and I am proud that Crown Street Art Gallery has secured this wonderful exhibition for local people to enjoy.

“The Materialistics’ collection is a great example of how creative talents can inspire and intrigue people. I hope as many local people as possible come along to see and enjoy the collection.”
