Walking with the Wounded

Article text
Durham University’s Palace Green Library asked people to knit, crochet or sew hats to be sold to raise money for Walking with the Wounded, a veterans’ charity. The hats will be sold for a suggested donation of £15 each at the library and Durham Christmas Festival. Barclay’s Bank has agreed to match fund the first £1,000 raised.
Sue brought the idea to the group and, as a result, 25 hats were handed over at the Woolaballoo stall at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate last Friday. The organisers were absolutely delighted with both the number of hats and their quality!
If all the hats are sold for £15, members who knitted them will have raised £375 for the charity!
